Comic Revolution

Superman is able to save the day in spectacular fashion and has his first re-encounter with a less than impressed Lois. Superman is just a movie; the Da Vinci Code is just a movie, entertainment, nothing more. If I focus on teaching the truth of the Word of God, and not spend my time in embroiled in endless debates, false claims won't get the time and attention they shouldn't get, and Jesus will get the attention He deserves. Superman is alive and well in the warm, bright, shallow seas of the coral reef. He is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and capable of seeing into a realm we cannot begin to understand.

Superman isn’t a part of our new story. He lives in an old world. Superman is absolutely unreal, and yet he is admired for the deeds he performs. It all boils down to the promotion of Bush's fascist doctrine, both inside and outside America. Superman is also nearly always portrayed as having had some hand in World War II , when the comics' timeline permits.

Superman is a different ride for every rider, and that's one of its greatest charms. Superman is “dead” 20 minutes into the film, and back up and alive 10 minutes later…it turns out, he didn’t die at all. His body just shut down, making it appear that he was dead. Superman is one and the same man as the reporter Lex sees. So this argument must be invalid.

Superman is an American hero, an American hero that has made fortunes for DC comics and Warner Bros. If it is unpopular to be an American hero today in the "international" market, maybe Warner Bros should go make they're movies in China. Superman is an old fashioned hero who is purely good which can be cheesy; but it would have been interesting to see a purely good godlike entity having to deal with cynical humans. Making him act in a cynical way, trying to break up Lois's engagement is understandable but not purely good. Superman is not only supposed to be invincible, but he can melt stuff with his eyes, freeze stuff with his breath, fly faster than a speeding bullet … not to mention his super strength. Anybody gifted with those powers would rule ass, yet Supes somehow manages to get *his* ass kicked on a regular basis.

Superman is made stronger, more realistic and relatable because there is that core of Routh's Clark Kent within him. Superman is super fast. In fact, he’s faster than a speeding bullet, which is somewhere between the speed of 800 and 3500 feet per second, depending on the bullet. Superman is a figure at a juncture in the middle of pagan and Christian just as he's become something like a transitional icon bridging science and religion, classic comics and the modern superhero era, and Americana and the Wasteland. In the film, Superman is a character warring between what he wants and the destiny his father has charted for him--and aren't we all.

Superman is a supercharged version of humanity (i.e., a ?Super? ?man?), while Spidey is a mutated admixture of humanity (i.e., a human-spider hybrid; as indicated by his appropriately hyphenated name: ?Spider? ?-? ?Man?). He is in effect a supercharged drug addict; itself an echo of Harry Osborn?s drug addiction in comic book fandom (Partible, 2005, p. Superman is born Kal-El on an alien planet — later named Krypton — and is rocketed to Earth as an infant by his scientist father moments before the planet's destruction. The rocket lands on Earth, where he is found by passing motorists who adopt him and give him the name Clark Kent. Superman is widely considered to be the most popular comic book super hero ever created.

Superman is after all the top assignment -- even though he doesn't make the most money and isn't the most popular character with fans -- not by a long shot. The protagonist is struggling with a range of personal issues, mostly surrounding a family history of Huntington's disease, which distract him from but draw him back to engaging with the "problem" posed by the Superman character. Superman is that person and I cannot hate on him because he is who he is. About being boring if we were to be him I bet we would never live one boring day in our lives. Superman isn’t a defender of “truth, justice, and the American way” because he’s got a bunch of superpowers. He does what he does because he had a ma and pa that raised him to be someone who would pledge his life to helping other people.

Superman is legendary and kids love the "Man of Steel" who can fly through the sky and stop evil doers. The latest movie in 2006 has proven that Superman is not dead by any means and that the current generation is just getting to know this superhero.
